About DCSUG

The Washington DC SAS Users Group (DCSUG) serves SAS users from all over the DC metropolitan area. Together with its neighboring SAS users groups MDSUG (Maryland) and VASUG (Virginia), DCSUG seeks to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, increased knowledge about SAS products, and professional advancement. DCSUG is committed to working with other SAS users groups: in-house, local, regional, and international. Read the bylaws.

When: Usually a Tuesday morning early in the last month of the quarter (March, June, September, December)

Where: Usually at Bureau of Labor Statistics, Postal Square Building (across from Union Station)

At these half-day meetings, members of the SAS user community present papers, exchange ideas, and generally find out what others are doing with SAS. The papers, given by members of our local group as well as experts from outside, stimulate discussion and provide instruction. Our meetings are free and open to the public.

2010 Meeting Dates

  • Tuesday, March 2, 2010
  • THURSDAY, June 10, 2010
  • THURSDAY, September 16, 2010
  • Tuesday, December 7, 2010

Definitive times and locations to be announced

Through the generous support of the SAS Institute, DCSUG members enjoy a speaker from SAS Institute at one meeting each year. DCSUG also participates in the Speaker Exchange Program of the NorthEast SAS Users Group (NESUG) and the SouthEast SAS Users Group (SESUG). These regional groups are able to bring us speakers from outside the DC area to speak on a variety of topics. In addition, speakers from our own area contribute their expertise, so DCSUG meetings always offer a stimulating mix of ideas.

For many years, DCSUG published a quarterly newsletter. These days we rely on the Internet to communicate with members. Here is an archive of the newsletters, back to 1997.

Online versions of the newsletter are delivered in Adobe Acrobat portable document format (PDF), which means you need a copy of the Acrobat Reader on your computer in order to view or print them. This is free software; if you need a copy, it is available from Adobe.

Here are the full texts of some useful papers on SAS topics. They were either written by DCSUG members or presented to DCSUG by guest speakers. They are in Adobe Acrobat portable document format (PDF), which means you need a copy of the Acrobat Reader on your computer in order to view or print them. This is free software; if you need a copy, it is available from Adobe.

Individual membership in DCSUG is just $10 a year. Members are kept informed about meetings and events through our newsletter and other communications.

DCSUG also offers group memberships for $50 a year. An organization holding such a membership receives our newsletter and may freely distribute it to its SAS users, and can send as many SAS users as it wishes to our meetings. Like individual members, group members can place ads in our newsletter at the going rate.

For information on membership status contact Beth Schreiber.
